The Imamzadeh Shahzadeh Hossein is the historical mausoleum of Hossein, who was the offspring of famous Hazrat Ali Ebne Moosa-Al Reza, the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, the progeny of Prophet Muhammad and his eighth successor.
Imamzadeh refers to places where the holy people directly or indirectly descended from the Shiite Imams. These have been the religious figures in their own times and highly respected and referred to by their followers to help them in their daily lives. As an old tradition, the followers still go to the same people after centuries and ask them for help and pray to them. Structures built for such purposes are called Imamzadeh, which are actually shrines built for such clerics.

The primary structure was built during Shah Safi era. However, the initial structure has been repaired and renovated during the later periods of Persian history. The wooden crypt of the resting abode bears the date going back to 1506. Many historians consider the date to be the earliest date noted till today.
Structure of the Mausoleum
The Imamzadeh Shahzadeh Hossein includes a courtyard and burial chamber along with the entrance. One can observe the elaborate tile work arranged and structured in geometrical designs and displayed on the vaulted entrance of the monument. Many people visit the site while touring in Iran to see the elevated and majestic entrance with a door bearing a phrase written in the Naskh script under the knockers on each side.
The writing contains twelve poetical verses inscribed on both sides of the door. When a visitor enters the monument, he can observe five chambers along with a porch built at both sides of the threshold. You can also see additional porches built in remaining sides of the chamber. By crossing the threshold, you can reach a vestibule leading to the vast courtyard.
The Vast Courtyard
After crossing the vestibule, you can reach the enormous courtyard attached to the burial chamber. This open space in front of Imamzadeh Shahzadeh Hossein contains a set of false arches along with a large octagonal structure built at the center to contain the water required for consumption.
You can see an inscription placed on top of the octagonal structure. The main dome is within four porches from four sides. Many people compare the style and design of the monument with that of a castle due to the options included to overlook both external and internal surroundings.
