Tourists will want to arrive very early at the Schloss Charlottenburg gardens. The gardens built surrounding the 300 year old palace opens at dawn. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic breakfast before a busy day of touring Berlin. Inside the palace is a small collection of romantic paintings. The architecture of the building, which was built in two stages, is a fascinating example of early Berlin architecture.
No vacation would be complete without a shopping adventure. Berlin offers many quaint little shops around the newly restored Potsdamer Platz and the New Centre. This area, located near the torn down Berlin Wall, is well known for its traditional shops and wonderful cafes. It is a superb place to get a bite to eat.
