While the idea that mummified corpses are walking the streets or even threatening to is quite absurd it is good to know that it isn’t happening. You can however visit the ancient land of Egypt and see many lifeless corpses that have been preserved for centuries through the art of mummification. This is one of the key reasons why people make the journey into Africa to soak up one of the world’s most intriguing culturally and historically gifted nations.
In the capital Cairo you will be able to experience much of Egypt’s colourful history by visiting the Giza Pyramids and the astonishing Sphynx. A museum or two later and you will be fully enthralled by the vast history and shocking tales of Pharaohs and their reign of power. Watch out for crowds running and screaming as someone may have successfully attempted the resurrection of a mummy. Of course I am not being serious in the slightest.
Egypt doesn’t consist of Cairo and its historical magnificence it really has so much more to give. If you have ever heard of Sharm el Sheikh, which I’m sure you have, then you will know that it offers one of the best diving excursion available on the planet. The reefs Tiran and Ras Mohammed are where you can enjoy deep sea diving in the Red Sea and see various schools of tropical fish, it’s not uncommon to see Sharks, Murrays and Barracudas either. Across the Gulf of Suez another diving resort is on offer called Hurghada, it offers similar activities to Sharm just not as well known. Both of the places do offer a great nightlife at the same time, Sharm el Sheikh has its own Pacha nightclub while Hurghada has the world’s only Ministry of Sounds Beach Club.
Egypt really does have plenty to offer, and the best thing of all is that the weather is hot all year long so whenever you’re free you can swing on by. However if you have a large fear of fictional monsters like mummy’s you might want to avoid the likes of Cairo and Luxor, though you could be involved in your own Indiana Jones style adventure on your holiday. On the other hand if you have a fear of actual dangerous beast like Sharks you may want to avoid a diving excursion in the likes of Sharm and Hurghada, though safety can be assured by the professionally trained diving instructors.
