Tenerife is of course well known for its tropical nature and it really is a wonderland of fantastic sights that aren’t like to witness in too many other places on the planet. Back in the days of exploration when every captain who had a bought was searching for places to put on their CV, many would have loved to claim such a place like Tenerife. Found back in the 14th century, Tenerife has amassed a great variety of tropical plant life thanks to its climate. The mixture of constant sunshine and plenty of rain means that the flora and fauna has the ideal conditions to thrive, which is why the island is home to many species.

The Flame of the Forest is one such example of Tenerife’s beautiful plant life and the tree is a regular in the world’s top 5 beautiful flowering trees. The tree is native to Madagascar and during spring and summer it will bloom with bunches of flame red flowers. As a spectacle to look at they are truly amazing as they can light up the dullest of areas.

The Angel’s Trumpet is a plant which is native to South America and has a dozen of varieties. Growing as high as 5 meters the plant is a trumpet shape and is instantly recognisable. With great beauty unfortunately comes great danger, the plant itself can be deadly should you eat a large amount, so it is much safer to simply admire it with a picture or two.

Next up is the Rose of China which is unsurprising native to Asia. The plant is an evergreen shrub and is used mainly as a hedge in Tenerife, though back in its native lands it is seen as a source of medical value. Those in the Far East use it to help sun burn and loss of appetite, sometimes it is even used as a laxative. Once again eating this plant could prove to be a bad idea, though if you go around eating exotic plants you probably have enough problems.

The Bird of Paradise is yet another beautifully named plant that can be found in Tenerife. This one is native to South Africa and its unique shape along with blue and orange flowers with petals that form perfectly for birds to come and drinks its nectar.
Which so much beautiful exotic plant life available on this planet you simply can’t just imagine what you are missing out on, only a holiday to the tropical island can help you understand the stunning nature.
