Research Is Key To A Cheap Flight
Jordan Sinclair works for Book Flights (R) who specialises in offering Canadians cheap flights by comparing the airfares of up to 125 different Airlines.
Travelling by air is one of the most efficient forms of transport. No matter if it’s a long haul flight or a cross country one, everyone enjoys the speed with which an airplane gets you there. Although the speed of flights is great, the cost of them can be an issue, so people are always looking for a cheap flight. The key to saving money on travel is to try and avoid booking around public holidays as tickets are more expensive due to demand.
The downside to obtaining cheap flights is that it requires a lot of research and planning. Choosing your destination is very important. If your planning a vacation try and pick a location that is less popular than the regular hotspots. Or alternatively if you want to go to a well known travel location, try and travel off season. Travel locations that are less popular you are more likely to be able to obtain a cheap flight.
If you know the dates you want to travel its best to perform a search in a travel comparison search engine. Travel comparison sites are known as aggregators and they compare the prices of all airlines that fly to your destination. They automatically offer you the cheapest flight available. To obtain an even cheaper flight, try book flights in the middle of the week as ticket prices are normally cheaper. Also consider searching for connecting flights rather than flying direct. If you are flying to a European destination such as London, try searching for flights with national airlines such as British Airways or if you were flying to Montreal in Canada try searching with Air Canada or Canjet.
Booking a ticket more than 21 days in advance is considered an early booking and prices are always less expensive. The closer to flight date and tickets increase in price at regular intervals such as 2 weeks, 1 week or the day before. If no flights are available when you search online, ring the airlines directly, as they sometimes hold seats for staff or have cancellations.
