Protaras Has Slowly Become Top Dog
Enjoy a fantastic scenic holiday in the popular destination of Protaras. Head over to http://www.cheapholidays.com today and find hundreds of great holiday days for 2010.
Over the years Cyprus hasn’t been short of attention with the sun shining off each and every coast, but as the popularity was shared out smaller areas didn’t get too much of the lime light, so after biding its time for so long Protaras is enjoying a golden age.
So what’s going on in Protaras? The town itself can be found on the east coast of Cyprus that covers Fig Tree Bay which can take most of the credit for its current popularity and probably the longevity of it too. The bay is a fantastic place to spend the scorching days during summer, though beaches in the Mediterranean are largely a ‘dime a dozen’, pardon the American phrasing. You can really move your finger a millimetre on a map before bumping into another Mediterranean beach which promises golden sands and clear blue waters, this of course doesn’t mean that it’s a lie but we now expect more that to entice us to part with our hard earned money.
If you feel like submerging yourself in the hot and exotic surroundings of your summer getaway then Protaras can give you the tools that you need to do so. While the coast may draw you in first and foremost but walks inland are equally tranquil and will put you thoroughly in the relaxing mood being surrounded by plenty of beautiful and lush natural scenery. Although there is plenty of activities that is aimed at the modern tourist who enjoy high octane water sports there is much more to be said for exploring the scenery rather than trying to whizz straight by it.
Cape Greco and the Church of Ayios Ilias are two great areas that you should travel to during a stay in Protaras. Cape Greco is a vast area of great beauty which is popular with tourists from all over the island. The huge beach area and shallow waters are perfect to play in or relax on. Enjoy peaceful walks up to the Church of Ayios Ilias which can be found just outside of Protaras atop a hill and once you get there you can also enjoy a fantastic picturesque of the whole town and surrounding area.
Fine dining and lively nights are typical additions to most holiday hot spots throughout the Mediterranean but Protaras has far too much scenic beauty to miss out on if you divulge too much into things like that.
