Get ready for some action on the court this winter season when you plan a trip to Houston, Texas. The Houston Rockets will certainly have their hands full as they host several notable NBA teams from around the country. The warm-weather city is also a great spot to enjoy a game of football or set your sights on the rink for a WWE competition. No matter which sport is your favorite to enjoy, you’ll certainly find something to like during the holiday season in Houston. Check out some previews of Rockets games below and for a more detailed description of upcoming events, be sure to go online and purchase Houston tickets.
On December 22, the Houston Rockets will host the Los Angeles Clippers at the Toyota Center. The Rockets have been trying to assert their dominance on the court this season and have been relying heavily on some of their star players like Aaron Brooks and David Anderson. Coach Rick Adelman has been steadily optimistic about his team’s strength on the court. Earlier in the season, after a win against the Los Angeles Lakers, Adelman noted that “We kept our composure and got back in it.” This time around the Rockets will be hosting another L.A. based NBA team.
The Clippers have been gathering steam throughout the season, signaling a real comeback after their convincing win against Oklahoma City. They have been especially fortunate to have the help of Baron Davis, who has been an essential element to the Clippers’ recent wins. He’s also offered some insight into what his team might need to work on in future matchups. He said to CBSsports online, “We are too congested sometimes and that is how some teams get back into the game on us.” See how they play against the Rockets when they compete at the Toyota Center.
The Rockets will also have to try and fend off the Detroit Pistons at the Toyota Center on December 15. The Pistons have been showing their A-game throughout much of the season, but they are heavily reliant on some key players such as: Richard Hamilton, Ben Gordon and Tayshaun Price. In a recent game against the Mavericks, the Pistons were short their star athletes as all were either out with injuries or illnesses. The shortage of star-power left the Pistons unable to secure a win. The Rockets will likely be hoping for an easy win against the Pistons, but that certainly is no guarantee if Gordon, who is the team’s top scorer, is at his best in the Toyota Center.
The Rockets will close out 2009 with a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 31. Whereas the Mavs seemed to struggle a bit last season, they are clearly a unified team this time around. They have vastly improved upon their both their defensive tactics and their offensive skills, blowing much of their competition right out of the water. The Mavs have also been lucky with such standout players like Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry and Drew Gooden. Get your tickets to see the Mavericks challenge the Houston Rockets on their home turf.
