Plan well in advance how to build on variety of activities so that everyone has the opportunity to pick a favorite. This is a great way to make sure that no one who is on the trip feels like they are being pulled around through the entire vacation to a bunch of things they dont want to see.
Another good idea for your travel with kids is to have them help plan the vacation. Look on the Internet together at everything there is available to do, and have everyone choose two that they would like to do most. Write out a general itinerary and follow it while you are vacationing. This way you will know what you are going to be doing, and when the kids ask what you are doing, you will be able to answer them!
Nothing aggravates travelers more than traveling all over the place during the vacation when they have already traveled hours to get there in the first place. The solution? Stay in accommodations that are near the center of your activities and your destination. You might be surprised at how much tension a centrally located hotel can relieve, especially after a tiring, long day of sight seeing during any travel with kids.
