So here I am back in the office after a fantastic holiday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh. Getting back to reality has not been easy, especially getting used to the fact that I cannot just nip to the pool bar and enjoy a cocktail, the office water cooler just is not enough. Luckily I still have my holiday tan to remind me about the amazing two weeks spent in this beautiful, modern resort. If you are considering going on holiday this year, it is my belief that a simple week in Spain will just not do. If you want to experience the type of holiday that will have you dreaming that your desk was a sun lounger, why not book your escape to this amazing resort. Read on for my top tips for a holiday in Sharm el Sheikh.

As we were travelling as a family, we worried that the Egyptian heat may be too much for our little ones. Images of searing deserts and no shade kept plaguing my mind every time I picked up a holiday essential from the supermarket. Although the resort is a year round destination for those looking for a dose of winter sun, we found that it was easy to escape the hot midday sunshine and relax in comfort. If you choose to visit Sharm el Sheikh outside of the peak summer months you will also avoid the heat that attracts thousands of sun lovers each day.

After arriving at our hotel we were happy to discover that it was ideally located within walking distance to beaches, restaurants and other family friendly activities. Whilst my husband relaxed with a book on the beach, I took the kids out to enjoy a pedalo ride. The crystal clear waters made it easier than ever to get a good look at the inhabitants that live underneath the water.

The evenings in Sharm el Sheikh were just as exciting as during the day. Although we felt a bit old to be hitting the clubs with the younger crowd, we were still able to head out to one of the many bars around the hotel. The children were entertained in the hotel’s kids club, which allowed us to enjoy a few cocktails whilst watching the sunset over the Red Sea Riviera. We are already planning our next trip to Sharm el Sheikh and it cannot come soon enough, now to get used to wearing normal clothes instead of a bikini every day!
